Competa is a town with just under 4000 inhabitants. The town is known for its picturesque whitewashed houses, narrow streets and beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Plaza Almijara is a public square located at the striking brown church. The square is named after the Almijara mountain range that extends to the east of the city and offers beautiful views of the mountains and the surrounding area. The square has a number of restaurants and cafes where visitors can enjoy local food and drinks. There are also numerous restaurants and bars elsewhere in the city. Every Saturday there is a small, cozy market with vegetables, herbs, nuts, textiles and ceramics.
About Robert & Margot
We rented a house here for the first time a few years ago and we have since been sold. The tranquility, the beautiful view over the mountains, the temperature and the many recreational opportunities. From walking, cycling and city trips (Málaga, Cordoba, Granada) to skiing (2 hours drive) in the Sierra Nevada.
We also love the Spanish culture (both in the big and small cities) and the delicious food. At the beginning of 2023 we bought our own villa. We want to spend a few months here every year and the rest of the time we rent out our casa. For example to you ;-). You are very welcome and we are sure you will have a great time!
